Mar 31- Next meeting at PERC: Propagation day for our end of the semester plant sale, stop by anytime between 4-6pm to help out.

When: Thursday March 24, 2011 at 7pm
Where: Behavioral Science Building-Room 131
Join us for a showing of David Attenborough’s The Private Life of Plants: Flowering in an IMAX quality theater. The person that comes dressed in the best flower inspired outfit wins an orchid (pictured in last post).

DIPS. Jluhbao Fairy X DIPS. Sweet Strawberry:  3.5in pink flowers with darker pink spots, 5 opened buds, 27 unopened, 2 ft tall from soil level

-Mar 5 Field Trip to Quatrix Aquaponics meet at Shep at 2:45, or meet there at 3 directions emailed out
-Mar 10 Next meeting PERC cleaning out/organizing our storage
-Mar 24 Plant Extravaganza: watching The Private Life of Plants: Flowering episode in the IMAX at the behavioral sciences building, door prizes, and an orchid for the person that comes dressed in the best flower inspired outfit

-MACHS If you are interested there will be a meeting after spring break to discuss it

-Propagation methods and procedures
-Rules of greenhouse and watering

Last meeting we discussed our Life Of Plants Extravaganza and decided to move it to after spring break. Some new ideas were brought up including having food at some meeting, having monthly plant sales, and propagating different plants. We also had a speaker who spoke about sustainability on CSU (questions/for more info email tracy@nrel.colostate.edu, or visit truegreen.org)

-Feb 2,4 Plant sale at Flea market in LSC from 10-3
-Feb 8-11 Progreen
-Feb 10 next meeting at PERC st 5pm
-Feb 16 Career Day for college of Ag, we are supplying centerpieces

Tentative Events
-March 3 Life of Plants Extravaganza at Behavioral Sci Building (DVD, food, and plant sale)
-April 2 or 9 next field trip to Quatrix hydroponics

If you have/want to really grow or propagate anything ask us. Ideas so far have been palms and bamboo.

-12/9 Last meeting of the semester: PERC 5pm, if you want a plant you can pick one to take home at this meeting

Tentative Events
-Need volunteers to water the plants (Mon, Weds, Fri) over winter break
-Plant sale 1st or 2nd week after break
-T-shirts should come in after winter break
-In the Spring maybe an I-Max plant movie in behavioral sciences building
-MACHS: start thinking about it
-Going to the Denver Botanic Gardens on Dec 4 has been canceled

11/16 Thanksgiving diner: 2 people are bringing turkey/ham (Katie & Claire) and  doing a skit, ideas so far include  Ghost of Thanksgiving Past, Evil Man-eating Turkey, and Turkey of the Sea. Clean-up afterwards.
11/18 Meeting at Shep 6pm
12/2 Meeting at PERC 5pm

12/4 Denver Botanic Gardens greenhouse tour and lights. Leave CSU at 2:00 be at DBG at 3:00. So far Dan B, Collen, Brice, Daniel, and Mark (maybe Dayna and Zandra).
